Dear Citizen,
You are an important stakeholder to the functioning of AIIMS. You are welcome to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar one of the premier Medical Institutes of India. AIIMS is committed to provide high quality services and medical care to each and every individual coming to AIIMS. In line with our mandate, we, at AIIMS, strive hard to provide comprehensive, high quality tertiary care services (specialty and super-specialty services) to the users. However, there may be some deficiencies at this stage as the institute is still in development phase.

This charter seeks to provide a frame work, which enables our users to know:-

  • The rights of citizen in the hospital.
  • The responsibilities of citizens in the hospital.
  • AIIMS, Bhubaneswar Hospital is located at Sijua,Near Biju Pattnaik State Police Academyalongside the National Highway 16. The Hospital is 10 km away from Biju Pattnaik International Airport, 15 km from Railway Station and 5 kms from Inter State Bus Terminus (Burmunda Bus Stand).

The OPD Block is situated at the main entrance of the hospital on the right. The OPD functions in ground and first floor in four blocks (A, B, C& D Block).

Morning OPD (Registration Time 8.00 am to 11.00 AM)
OPD Services are available from Monday to Saturday in the morning hours from 8.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. The Registration Fee for OPD Services is Rs 10/- per patient and is charged for the first visit only once a year. Afternoon Clinic (Registration time2.00 pm to 3.00 pm)
In addition to the morning OPDs afternoon multidisciplinary clinic are held from Monday to friday. The patients for the afternoon clinic are referred from morning OPDs or from any other health institutions. Currently, the afternoon clinics are held.

Admission to hospital are done from Emergency Medicine (Causality) or from Out Patient Department (OPD). Patients are admitted to general ward or private ward based on patient’s preference and availability of beds.
At present the bed strength of the different departments are as follows

Charges for admission to general wards are Rs 50 per day and Rs 1000/- per Day/ in private ward. The patient is required to deposit advance for 10days at the time of admission.

Emergency Medicine Department
The Emergency Medicine (Casualty) operates round the clock for management of emergency cases. A team of junior residents and senior resident doctors attend the emergency cases in the casualty. Other specialists are available on call basis. All the care provided in the emergency department is free of cost.

Investigations
All the investigation are performed by a specialist in the hospital. The hospital is equipped to perform all major types of biochemistry, microbiology, pathology and radiology investigations. Nominal user charges are levied to the patients for laboratory tests. All laboratory tests are done free of costs to patients holding BPL (Below Poverty Line) cards.

There will be occasions when our services will not be up to your expectations. Please do not hesitate to register your complaints. It will only help as serve you better.
You may lodge your complaints to the Medical Superintendents office. Every complaint will be duly acknowledged and sincere attempt will be made to solve your problem.

The success of this charter depends on the support we receive from our users. Please try to appreciate the various constraints under which the hospital is functioning. Please follow the rules and regulations of the hospital while inside the hospital campus. Please respect and try to help differently abled individuals, elderly females and children Please do not cause inconvenience to other patients by crowding or making noise unnecessarily. Please help us in keeping the hospital and its surroundings neat and clean. Please don't argue with security guards, show your passes when asked for & help maintain the order and peace inside the hospital premises. Please use the facilities of this hospital with care and do not damage/ spoil hospital property. Beware of Touts & unauthorized persons. Don't indulge in any money transactions with them. The Hospital is a No Smoking Zone. Please refrain from demanding undue favours from the staff and officials. Please provide useful feedback and constructive suggestions. These may be addressed to the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital. Wheel chairs, patient trolleys etc. are available free of charge at the entrance of OPD. OPDs have waiting hall with chairs, TVs, public utilities like drinking water & toilets etc. You should park your vehicle in the parking only otherwise it is likely to be towed away.
