All India Institute of Medical Science Bhubaneswar was established under Phase 1 of Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) in 2012 to create centre of excellence for providing high quality of patient care, Education and Research training for bridging the gap in the Eastern part of India within a decade AIIMS Bhubaneswar has emerged as a leading and an exemplary institution in medical sciences by full filling of its objective of world class education, training, patient care and research which resulted in achieving the 31st rank in the year of 2021 subsequently 26th rank in NIRF for the year 2022 among all the Medical Institutes across the country.
Over the time AIIMS Bhubaneswar has established its recognition as a very trusted, reputed and respected healthcare institute in the country with people from all strata of the society from the state of Odisha as well as from the neighbouring states such as West Bengal, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh. This has been achieved by the support from the Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Government of India and the enormous contributions made over the years by Faculty, Resident, Nursing Staff, Administrative staff and others. We are also thankful for getting constant support from Govt. of Odisha. AIIMS Bhubaneswar maintains the highest standards in affordable patient care and promotes research by keeping it in forefront. The institution always acts proactively and takes the lead in times of national emergencies and ensures smooth health care coordination.
It is a great honor and privileged to take over the charges of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar as an Executive Director & CEO on 21st July 2022 after serving about 30 years in AIIMS, New Delhi.
My vision is to establish and develop AIIMS, Bhubaneswar as a Global Centre of Excellence in medical and allied health services.
My goal is not only focus on comprehensive development of the institute and excel further in higher medical education, research, innovation and tertiary care services but strongly to introduce organ transplant services in various departments. I am also confident that very soon Evidence Based Clinical Practice will be adapted in AIIMS Bhubaneswar which will be one of the best models for providing timely and high-quality patient care services.
