🛡️ Cyber Security Do’s & Don’ts

Source: CERT-In

Why cyber security matters

Hospitals and academic institutes hold sensitive patient, research and staff data. A single careless click on a phishing link or a weak password can expose that data and disrupt services. Cyber security is everyone’s responsibility, not only the IT department’s.

Do: use strong, unique passwords, keep software updated, lock your screen when you step away, verify senders before opening attachments, and report anything suspicious.

Don’t: share passwords or OTPs, click unknown links, use pirated software, plug in unknown USB drives, or leave patient information visible on screen.

If you are a victim of online fraud, call the national cyber crime helpline 1930 or report at cybercrime.gov.in. Incidents can also be reported to CERT-In at incident@cert-in.org.in.
